Wire

NiTinol wire is supplied in a wide variety of different alloys, sizes, conditions and surfaces. For a complete specification, the following parameters have to be defined:

Alloy types: NiTinol is available in different alloy compositions, some of which are superelastic materials (Alloy N, S and C) and others are used as actuator materials (Alloy B, M, H and Flexinol).
Thermomechanical condition (as cold worked, straight annealed, shape annealed or actuator optimized).
Surface quality (standard dark grey oxide, light blue oxide, ground, polished or ultra-fine polished surfaces).
Tolerances: standard tolerances are dependant on the diameter. For example a wire of 0,30 to 0,61 mm typically is supplied with a tolerance window of ±0.01 mm.

Conditions:
• Af-temperatures between -100°C up to +120°C (standard alloys -25°C up to +120°C)
• alloy fabrication possible upon special request
• Surface conditions from shiny black oxide, amber/brown oxide over ground up to ultra-fine polished surfaces
• Thermomechanical Conditions from as cold-worked with different degrees of coldwork to straight annealed or set into specific shapes (springs, hooks, etc.)

Available as:
Alloy N (Superelastic)
Alloy S
(Superelastic)
Alloy C
(Superelastic)
Alloy B
(Shape Memory)
Alloy M
(Shape Memory)
Alloy H
(Shape Memory)
Flexinol ™ Wire
(Actuator high fatigue)
